Amid the shocking news of ASTRO Moonbin’s death, fans grieved as they looked back on his 2023 wish. In January this year, Moonbin and his younger sister Moon Sua, who is active as a member of the girl group Billlie, appeared on MBC’s “DNA Mate” and showed their real brother and sister chemistry. On the show, the two did bungee jumping after having a meal together. Before she jumped, Moon SuA shouted, “Billlie, let’s succeed!”. Surprised to see his sister do the jump confidently, Moonbin said, “It was unexpected. She was such a scaredy-cat when she was young”. When it came to Moonbin’s turn to jump, he dedicated his 2023 wish to his younger sister, saying “I hope Sua is always happy. Fighting!”. Commenting on Moonbin’s love for his sister, the production team added the caption, “All he wants in 2023 is his sister’s happiness”. Moon Sua shared, “We played around with each other a lot when we were young. It suddenly feels like we just went back to our childhood. He looked so happy”. Moonbin also confessed, “This is the first time in 25 years that I could spend time with her alone, so it’s very meaningful to me. I think we have gotten much closer.” Moon Sua then said, “I think this is the first time I spent the whole day with you”, and made a promise for the next time. Since the two siblings were especially close, netizens are expressing concerns over the deceased’s younger sister Moon Sua. After her name was put on the list of chief mourners at her brother Moonbin’s funeral, Moon Sua also canceled all her schedules. At the time of her debut, Moon Sua showed her pride in her older brother, who was also an idol senior who generously gave her good advice, saying “My brother is a warm person. He has always been such a reliable supporter next to me for a long time. I’m grateful for his warm advice.” In June last year, Moon Sua’s wish to perform on the same stage with her brother came true. She appeared on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” and presented a special stage called “Candy in My Ears” with her brother ASTRO Moonbin, as a special gift to fans of both groups. Earlier, the police reported that Moonbin had been found dead by his manager at his residence in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 8:10 p.m. on April 19th. The male idol passed away at the age of 25. The police stated, “It is presumed that Moonbin took his own life”, adding “We are considering carrying out an autopsy and investigations to determine the exact cause of his death”. ASTRO’s agency Fantagio also released an official statement, saying “On April 19th, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky”, adding “Though it is incomparable to the sadness and grief of the family members who have lost their beloved son and brother, the ASTRO members who have been with him for a long time, as well as our fellow artists and staff at Fantagio, are deeply mourning and grieving for the deceased in great sorrow and shock.” Meanwhile, the deceased’s mortuary has been set up at the funeral hall of Asan Hospital in Seoul. His funeral will be held on the 22nd. Source: Nate
