BTS's Suga and Hwang Minhyun Bond on Suchwita
BTS's Suga recently hosted a new episode of his variety program, Suchwita, and his special guest was idol-turned-actor Hwang Minhyun.
Bonding Over Experiences
During the episode, Hwang Minhyun and Suga connected over their experiences debuting a year apart and shared stories about their trainee days.
A Chance Encounter
Hwang Minhyun debuted in the K-pop boy group NU'EST in 2012 after being discovered on the street. He revealed that he was eating chicken skewers when a casting agent approached him from Pledis Entertainment. He humorously admitted that if he hadn't stopped for the chicken skewers, he might not have become an idol.
Initial Doubts
Hwang Minhyun shared that when he was street cast at 15 years old, he initially thought it might be a scam. Pledis Entertainment was a smaller company at the time and only had two artists, Son Dambi and After School, under their label.
A Confirming Call
Feeling skeptical, Hwang Minhyun gave his mom the business card he received and she called the agency to verify its legitimacy. Pledis Entertainment confirmed that they had three members cast for their upcoming boy group and were looking to add two more.
