ATEEZ: A Rising K-pop Group in 2023

2023 has been an incredible year for the boys of ATEEZ. This K-pop group, consisting of members Hong Joong, Seong Hwa, Yun Ho, Yeo Sang, San, Min Gi, Woo Young, and Jong Ho, has achieved remarkable success. They recently reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart with their Outlaw EP and even headlined this year's KCON LA. Additionally, they are about to embark on a series of tour dates in Latin America. Amidst their busy schedule, the members of ATEEZ took some time to discuss their latest career highlights in an interview with Billboard News.

The Success of Outlaw EP

Host Tetris Kelly began the interview by congratulating ATEEZ on the success of their Outlaw EP. The EP not only reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart but also peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. When asked about the positive reception, Hong Joon shared his thoughts, saying, "I think this era is a whole different ATEEZ, so that's why many ATINY (the group's fan name) and many audiences want to get some new pieces of our album. After we got a high number on the chart, we had pressure, but we try to enjoy these days. We try to have a good mindset to make new songs and put something deeper into it, like a new genre of music."

K-pop's Growing Popularity

K-pop has experienced a surge in popularity over the past few years, and ATEEZ's rise aligns perfectly with this trend. Min Gi reflected on this shift, highlighting that "there's a growing change as K-pop is becoming more widely accepted by the general public despite the language differences." The global appeal of K-pop has opened doors for ATEEZ and other groups to showcase their talent to a broader audience.

The Expansion of ATINY

ATEEZ's success has also led to the expansion of their dedicated fanbase, known as ATINY. Recently, ATINY members from all over the world organized flash mobs to perform ATEEZ's single "Bouncy" in public spaces. Many of these videos went viral on social media platforms, showcasing the passion and support of ATINY. Yun Ho expressed his fascination with the dance videos, stating, "I think the only people that can really capture the ATEEZ energy are our ATINY, so seeing them follow along with our dance was really fascinating. It made me want to create more cool choreographies that we can do together in the future."

The Fellowship: Break The Wall Tour

ATEEZ's journey continues with their ongoing tour, "The Fellowship: Break The Wall." On August 30th, they will be performing in Santiago, Chile, followed by stops in Bogota, Singapore, and Manila next month. The group's dedication to connecting with fans through live performances is evident as they bring their energy and talent to different parts of the world.
