SEVENTEEN's Jun Opens Up About His Journey to Becoming a K-Pop Idol
Soloist Lee Mujin recently hosted SEVENTEEN member Jun on his musical variety program Leemujin's Service. During the show, Jun opened up about his journey to becoming a K-Pop idol and how his entertainment career began.
Overcoming Nervousness and Building Confidence
Jun revealed that he struggled with being too nervous to sing in front of people when he was a trainee. His nerves were so severe that he would often lose his voice. To help him overcome this fear, Pledis Entertainment, his agency, sent him on a mission to sing to strangers in public.
After sharing his story, Jun's host, Lee Mujin, couldn't believe that the talented SEVENTEEN member had ever been nervous or lacked confidence. It seemed unbelievable to him because Jun has been in the entertainment industry since he was a child actor in China.
A Long Career in Entertainment
Jun confirmed that he has had a long career in entertainment, shocking everyone by revealing that he debuted in 1998 when he was only two years old. He started his journey as a child actor and later transitioned into becoming a K-Pop idol.
Jun shared that he was surprisingly street cast at the age of two. He recalled going to the park with his mom when a director approached them. The director told Jun's mom that they were looking for a new model to film and asked if Jun wanted to participate. This chance encounter led to Jun's debut as a child actor in China.
As he grew older, Jun was able to take on more serious roles and eventually made the transition to becoming a K-Pop idol as a member of SEVENTEEN.
