Stray Kids Wins Best K-pop at the 2023 MTV VMAs

Tuesday (Sept. 12) evening proved to be a monumental night for STAY, as Stray Kids took home the Moon Person for Best K-pop at the 2023 MTV VMAs. The South Korean boy band emerged victorious in a category that included tough competition from aespa, BLACKPINK, Fifty Fifty, Seventeen, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

When sisters and social media stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio announced Stray Kids as the winners for their song "S-Class," the group's reaction was a mix of disbelief and excitement. They paused for a moment before leaving their seats, seemingly wanting to ensure that the announcement was indeed correct or perhaps just savoring the moment a little longer.

Once on stage, Jeongin proudly held the iconic MTV award while Chan and Felix expressed their gratitude on behalf of the group. Chan began by saying, "Hello! We are Stray Kids, and we want to thank the VMAs for inviting us. We've been creating music since the beginning of our career, and receiving this award means a lot to us." He then turned to Felix and said, "Felix has something to say as well."

Felix continued by expressing their appreciation to their label, JYP division 1, and Republic Records. He also made sure to acknowledge their dedicated fanbase, known as STAYs, for their unwavering support. He concluded by saying, "We have so much to show you guys, so please look forward to the future."

The award-winning song, "S-Class," is featured on Stray Kids' 5-STAR album, which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart in June.
